Irish on Brit List
ScreenDaily reports that the second annual "Brit List", which lists the most recommended unproduced screenplays in the UK and Ireland, is circulating the film community.
Compiled from a survey of 40 producers, acquisitions executives, agents, sales agents and public funders, the list is intended to echo the success of the US Black List in drawing attention and perhaps finance to these projects.
Irish writer Frank Deasy's script Gaza, has made the shortlist of 17 screenplays. TV director Philip Martin and Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren are attached to the project--Deasy worked with the pair before on Granada's television movie Prime Suspect: The Final Act, for which Deasy won an Emmy in 2007.
