Damage on RTE
According to IFTN the new made-for-television film, Damage, written and directed by Irish writer/director Aisling Walsh (Sinners, Fingersmith), will air on RTÉ One on Sunday 24th June, at 9.30 pm.
The drama features a formidable cast, including British actresses Olivia Williams (Rushmore, The Sixth Sense) and Natalie Press (My Summer of Love, Red Road) alongside Scottish actor David O'Hara (Tristan & Isolde) and Irish actor Brendan Coyle (The Mapmaker).
Damage is a powerful single drama, produced by Subotica Entertainment, that deals with the aftermath of a violent rape perpetrated at a 21st birthday party in affluent, Southside Dublin.

it was a good show, some nice camera work and a little bit of surrealism. Sometimes the character Emma was a little unbelievable, and using similar looking characters - the rapist and the her father was a little distracting at times. Other than that a good show for rte.

I thought it was the worst bit of TV drama I've seen all year. The actress who played Emma was appaling. I thought perhaps english was her 2nd language (?) The only believable character was the Father. I really was looking forward to some gritty Irish Drama. It really is insulting that RTE put this on prime time television.
Thanks for your thoughts Eve. I didn't watch the show myself. It's interesting to see such different opinions of the show.
I agree with Eve, truly appalling television. It was so badly edited, with scenes sometimes only ten seconds long, intercutting between scenes was diabolical.
I think the actors really struggled with some very poor dialogue.
All in all, a waste of money and talent.
